PRICES

We charge a flat rate of $50.00 to inspect your fireplace and chimney anywhere in the Denver area and suburbs.  Wood stove inserts will probably be higher because we will likely need to move the insert to access areas of the fireplace for inspection. If your chimney needs to be cleaned, we charge a total of $99.50 for a regular fireplace, which includes the inspection. Freestanding wood stoves may be slightly higher, up to $20.00 over the cost of a fireplace, if we have to take apart the stove or chimney pipe in order to clean all areas of the system. Inserts are wood stoves that use a fireplace to vent and usually must be moved out of the fireplace opening to allow a thorough cleaning.  If we move the insert and put it back, our charge is $169.50.  If you move the insert yourself, the price would be the same as a regular fireplace.

CHIMNEY CAPS

We have an increasing number of raccoons in our area, and these animals have discovered that brick chimneys provide warmth, quiet and darkness for nesting, especially during the spring.  The raccoon will give birth to a litter of kittens and sleep in the chimney during the day and, because they are nocturnal, will hunt and forage for food at night.  Sometimes the mother raccoon is killed or is unable to return back to the chimney and the babies die.  Also, injured or older raccoons die in chimneys.  This creates an expense that you had not budgeted.

We offer a variety of sizes and styles of chimney caps that will prevent animals, such as birds, squirrels and raccoons from nesting in your chimney.  These caps also keep debris, leaves, rain and snow from accumulating in your chimney.  Our chimney caps also act as a spark arrestor to minimize the chance of an exterior fire caused by a spark or ember from your chimney.  The prices of our caps depend on the size you need and the material you choose.  We carry a variety of sizes on our trucks that fit most chimneys in the Denver Metro area, therefore, we can install the cap while we are inspecting or cleaning the chimney.  Prices for a black, powder-coated steel cap range from $60.00 for 8"x8" to $90.00 for 13"x18".  (The most common cap size we install costs $70.00.) Stainless caps have a lifetime warranty and are slightly higher.
